In 2022, Access Oxygen™ continues its development
More than one in two people in the world do not have access to medical oxygen, especially in rural areas of low- and middle-income countries. Based on this observation, the Access Oxygen™ program was launched in Senegal in 2017.
By 2023, Access Oxygen™ will be present in Senegal in the regions of Thiès, Saint-Louis and Kolda in the south of the country, providing 87 rural health centres with a training program for health workers and an equipment maintenance service.
In South Africa, VitalAire's Access Oxygen™ program provided oxygen therapy kits to the Unjani network of primary care clinics, as well as training for nurses. Thanks to a donation from Air Liquide Large Industries Secunda, 129 Unjani clinics have been equipped throughout the country.
A first pilot project has just been launched in Kenya with the local partner CPHD (Centre for Public Health and Development). Five health structures have been equipped and staff trained in the Bungoma region, covering a population of 50,000 people.
Access Oxygen™ now supports more than 200 health structures in Africa, providing 1.8 million people with access to medical oxygen. Our goal is to continue to bring Access Oxygen™ to other regions, to people who need it.
Oxygen saves lives, let's make it accessible!
